Creation of Mikako Uchida

In cooperation with: Tamura Photo Studio

2009, series of 9 albumen photogrammes.

This series is made from albumen prints which were "found" after a century of oblivion. Mikako Uchida is supposed to be the first female photographer in Japan, and also the inventor of the fotogramme that she contrived to send for her lover, if she was not a fictitious person. By connecting alternative photographic processes and narrative fiction, this series shows an alternative possibility of the history of photography.
